Us international members do follow the news you know! Personally, I think she's thrown the Presidential race wide open again.... I had thought Barak Obama would romp home to the White House fairly easily, but now I'm not so sure. What does concern me though is that, from the news reports we see over here and opinions of the American people we read about, people seem far more concerned with voting for which candidate they like the look of rather than the political agenda and policies of the party they represent. +11 reply

I've talked with some of my friends who still live in Alaska about her. Apparently, she and her wealthy husband are hardcore elitists, seriously imbued with the typical Republican "More power to the wealthy, and fuck over the working class" attitude. She's a shill for the big oil interests. The first thing she did as Governor was drastically cut the Alaska Senior programs, after she had stated in her campaign that she would not. She has made conditions much worse for Alaska State government employees. She's a strong Catholic, but apparently doesn't have the leadership skills necessary to keep her 17-year-old daughter from getting pregnant by another high school kid, so maybe she doesn't have enough leadership skills to be the VP. +2 replyCobra Dick posted 4 months ago
Not sure about that, she's the daughter of parents that worked at an elementary school and her husband has been in a union for 20 years. She wasn't exactly born with a silver spoon in her mouth nor did she marry a rich man. I'm sure she has made some unpopular decisions, but clearly some popular ones like when she got rid of the governors personal chef and the private jet. She may be a terrible choice, that remains to be seen, one thing I do like is she has not been in Washington the last 20 years and owes a lot of favors.
